Last week, Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal had said the 5G prices were way beyond their reach. “On the 3.5 Ghz band, Trai has recommended price to Rs 50,000 crore for 100 MHz of spectrum....

First thing’s first, there’s no clarity on whether India will go ahead with the 5Gi (TSDSI) or 5G (3GPP) standards. Minimum Recharge Policy Still Applicable on Airtel, Vodafone Idea Networks It was back in October 2018 when both the country’s top two telcos decided to introduce the minimum recharge policy. As part of this, Airtel and Vodafone Idea customers will have to perform a mandatory recharge every month otherwise incoming calls will be barred after seven days of recharge expiry. For example, you’re on an unlimited plan of Rs 249 on Vodafone Idea network, and your current plan expired today, then you will not receive any incoming calls after seven days....

Bharti Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom operator, has already rolled out 5G Plus in 19 cities. Most of the 5G handsets also support Airtel’s 5G Plus. Discussions Currently in Exploratory Stage According to a report by ET Telecom, one person aware of the matter said that the talks are in an exploratory stage. The other person aware of the issue said, “The idea is to consolidate operations and give a strong fight to Reliance Jio.
