Leading telecom operator, Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) and Smart World & Communication business of leading Engineering & Construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro have partnered, for a pilot project to test 5G-based Smart City solutions, as part of its ongoing 5G trials on Govt. allocated 5G spectrum. The companies will collaborate to test and validate 5G use cases built on IoT, Video AI technologies leveraging L&T’s Smart City platform – Fusion, addressing the challenges of urbanisation, safety & security and offering smart solutions to the citizens, in a pilot to be conducted in Pune....

Vodafone Idea (Vi), the third-largest telecom operator, is now allowing customers to send port out SMS to 1900 even with prepaid plans which don’t come without SMS benefits. Up until now, users who were on base level prepaid plans available at a very affordable cost couldn’t send port out SMS because telcos were not giving them SMS benefits with these plans. Looking at this, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) asked the operators to allow customers to send port out SMS at least even if they are on a plan without SMS benefits....

The promoters of Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), the third-largest telco in the country, might get fresh capital from its promoters, including Vodafone Group Plc and the Aditya Birla Group (ABG). Both the promoters are committed to supporting Vodafone Idea (Vi) in strengthening its balance sheet, said Vodafone Group in a stock exchange filing on Wednesday. Vodafone Group further said that both the promoters intend to contribute towards an issue of equity shares by Vi once the board of the telco decides the terms of such a capital raise....

Vodafone Idea has come out with a new prepaid plan of Rs 447. This plan is of the same nature as that of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel’s plan that offers users data without any daily limits. With the Rs 447 plan, Vi users can consume all the data they have in one go. It is worth noting that this plan is very similar to that of Bharti Airtel’s plan....

Vodafone Idea Rs 819 Prepaid Plan Please don’t confuse this prepaid plan with the Rs 801 plan from the telco. Both are completely different in terms of benefits; however, the validity provided by either of the plans is the same 84 days. Note that the 1 year extended warranty benefit is only applicable for users purchasing a Vivo smartphone. Users purchasing smartphones from other companies won’t be eligible to receive the benefit....

VIL Deems 2020 as Appropriate Year for Spectrum Auction ET Telecom reported the statement of the chief regulatory officer at Vodafone Idea Limited, P Balaji who said: “While the pricing for the future spectrum is very important, access to spectrum is equally important.” He added to his words, “If 5G is the game of the future from 2020 onwards, then it is very important that all telcos should get access to 5G, and not just opportunity to buy 5G airwaves....

Vodafone Idea (Vi) is going to release its earnings report later today. The results will be for the first quarter of the financial year 2022-2023. Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) is expected to post an increase in the blended average revenue per user (ARPU) figure on account of the residual effect of tariff hikes implemented in late November 2021. Investors would look at whether the telco’s 4G subscribers increased or not....

Vodafone Idea’s (Vi) shares fell 2.13% on Wednesday’s early trade session. The Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has banned over two million (2,069,000 to be precise) Indian accounts in October, reveals a compliance report published by the company. The company also received more than 500 grievance reports to address. Over 95% of the bans are due to the unauthorized use of automated or bulk messaging/spam. Among the 500+ grievances report WhatsApp received, 146 were for account support, 248 were ban appeal, 53 for product support, 11 grievances raised safety concerns, and 42 were other types....

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Key Specs Revealed The report from XDA developers claims two Xiaomi phones with codenames “Umi” and “Cmi” were spotted in build.prop files.
