Cisco has confirmed that it has been granted a telecom license by the Indian government. The company’s subsidiary Webex India has received this license, and with that, it has become the first OTT (over-the-top) player to receive a telecom license in the Indian market. With the license, the company can offer enterprise-grade national and international telecom connectivity. A company official told PTI that Cisco isn’t looking to compete with the existing customers, especially the telecom operators....

CloudConnect, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), is looking forward to the digitisation of the entire communication process, said Vidhu Nautiyal, co-founder and chief revenue officer, CloudConnect Private Limited. The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has said that it supports the use of street furniture to deploy small cells. According to Lt. Gen. Dr SP Kochhar, Director General, COAI, a key driver in 5G deployment would be the deployment of small cells. Small cells are essential to upgrade and expand the existing 4G networks in India. In line with the same, COAI, along with the members of the State Electricity Department, telecom service providers (TSPs), and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), provided a concrete proposal for the use of electric poles for 5G small cell deployments....

The worldwide PC market ended 2022 with shipments of 285.1 million units, a 16% decline from the top in 2021 when demand peaked across all end-user segments, according to Canalys. The market research company noted in its most recent analysis, which was made public on Wednesday, that despite the pandemic, shipment numbers are still favourable, with total 2022 exports expected to be 7% higher than in 2019. Google on Wednesday rolled out a new search experience for Indian users seeking suggestions on movies and TV shows to stream. The company introduced the feature in the US market in September, 2019 and has since expanded it to other countries. The suggestion feature will be enabled when users search for “what to watch” or good shows to watch” on mobile, tablets or on desktop.
