Asus in its second quarter earnings call on Wednesday said that the company sold 7680 units of the ROG Phone 3 within 15 minutes of its launch in India. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is eyeing for a hybrid-4G deployment in India. The state-run telco has received the nod from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for the same. In a recent development, Mavenir India, a subsidiary of the US-based telecom giant, said that it can fulfil the demands of BSNL’s 4G mentioned in the request for proposals (RFP). Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has asked the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to comply with the expressions of interest (EoI) conditions. The state-run telecom operator has asked the Mumbai based TCS to deploy 40W carrier power equipment instead of 20W as mandated. TCS is likely going to be rewarded the 4G tender from BSNL. However, according to an ET Telecom report, TCS had deployed a 20W carrier power equipment. BSNL has also asked TCS to expedite the offering of the proof of concept (PoC) equipment so that the designated committee can go ahead with the testing....

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has its own arm of fiber internet services called ‘Bharat Fibre’. The broadband internet service provider (ISP) has discontinued several fiber plans starting today. BSNL started by offering four fiber plans on October 1, 2020. The tender required the vendors to deal with the “planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning & annual maintenance of 4G mobile network.” BSNL estimated that the winners of the tender would deal with 50,000 sites of BSNL across India and 7000 sites of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) in Delhi and Mumbai circles....
