Vaishnaw requested the telecom industry to come together and convert 12 of these 100 labs into telecom incubators for training students and doing experiments....

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Communication, said that India will get indigenously developed 6G technology by the end of 2023 or by 2024. The Indian wired broadband service providers lost 160,000 subscribers in April, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) highlighted in a report on Friday. According to the Trai report, the fixed broadband subscriber base in India dipped to 19.02 million in April as compared to 19.18 million in March. It has to be noted that India was under intense lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic since March 24. While the government eased certain restrictions in the second phase of the lockdown that was implemented from April 16, shops and businesses were allowed to function in limited capacity only in late April....

After the 11% decline in revenues in FY18 to Rs 2.1 lakh crore, the industry topline is expected to further decline by 7% in FY19, the agency said, adding it expects a 6% growth in FY20. From a profitability perspective, it said the operating profit decline is expected to narrow to 18% in FY19 from the 21% decline in the previous fiscal, the agency said, adding the same is expected to go up by 20% in FY20....
